The Ecran Noir or Black Screen Festival is the most dominant film festival in Cameroon with nomination from all film categories. Next to it the Arts City Short Film Festival as the second short film festival that is uniquely film dominant.
Founded in 2014 by Achille Brice a film maker, with other top members of his profession like Anurin Nwunembom, the festival has been culminating in bringing and promoting short from all over the world.
One of the amazing things to be expecting at this year festival coming this October is the series of film that will be flown in from every corner in Cameroon.
Before the multiply award winning world feature film Ninah’s Dowry, could be premiere, writers had already heard about the good news of how the country’s flag had been hoisted in many festivals in the world and they relentlessly stay awake with camera occupying space in every neighborhood in the country in the name of “shooting my own film!”
Damaru, the lone Cameroon short film nominated and winner at the FESPACO 2014, created a more boom even in the thoughts of film worrywart in the country to be more confident with their trade. It’s really going to be amazing because of the 3D Glasses Achille, Anurin and entire jury team will needs to put on this year before awarding any film maker.
